Spy database proposal opposed

There is a very fine line distinguishing anti-terrorism surveillance and anti-people surveillance--and the government of the United Kingdom is surely treading it a lot nowadays.

Now, the government is facing oppositions from within after it proposed to have a central database holding information on all telephone calls, emails, and websites visited in the UK. Doesn't it sound too much?
